The Cable Craze Blanket Knit-Along begins January 13th, 2026!
Join us and build your skills with Berroco's year-long Cable Craze Blanket Knit-along! The Berroco Design Team has crafted twelve spectacular 16 x 16" blocks, each showcasing a unique cable arrangement that's perfect for knitters eager to dive in and master these mesmerizing stitches. Released on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, each block takes you on an exciting journey through the wonderful world of cables—from classic twists to interesting rope patterns and everything in between.
 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Completed Blanket: Approximately 50½ " / 128 cm x 66" / 167.5 cm

Each Block: Approximately 15½ " / 39 cm square

Yarn

BERROCO VINTAGE (100 g): Total 16 hanks of yarn

 6 hanks (C1), 5 hanks (C2), and 5 hanks (C3)

Needles

Knitting needles, sizes 7 / 4.5 mm and 8 / 5 mm or size to obtain gauge

60" / 150 cm circular needle, size 7 / 4.5 mm or size to obtain gauge

Notions

Cable needle, size 4.5 mm (G) crochet hook, tapestry needle

Gauge

23 sts and 29 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Block 1 Pattern St

Gauge is measured after blocking. To save time and ensure accurate measurements, take time to check gauge.

Construction Notes

The blanket is made up of 12 different cable blocks, each made individually and then sewn together. The blocks are knit with a garter stitch selvedge edge to facilitate seaming. Each block's pattern stitch is both written and charted for your preference. Cast on all blocks using the long-tail method; the first row begins on a WS row.

Date:  We will meet once a month to knit together - date and time determined by participants, but if you need help with any square, you can stop into the shop any time.
